Rosemary Karuga

Rosemary Karuga’s work has been widely exhibited since it first appeared in the Studio Museum in Harlem show in 1990. Her collages are so intricate that people sometimes mistake them for paintings and almost never are they appreciated for their second level of meaning: the embedded written words that bring commentary to the compositions.
