Aida Muluneh

In 2003 Aida Muluneh was in a show entitled "Ethiopian Passages: Dialogues in the Diaspora" at the National Museum of African Art. One of her photographs was on the back cover of the exhibit catalog and the National Museum aquired that work for their permanent collection. Aida Muluneh's work is as much about omission as it is about comission. In her candid phtographs of Africa she avoids images of misery and suffering while also avoiding the perfect scenes a Government Tourtist Office might take. What she gives us is life as she sees it.
